Creating Trip Broker Provider Security Groups

Trip Broker user security groups are created only to restrict Trip Broker users from seeing other providers' information.

Before you begin

Trip Broker must be open to the main menu.

About this task

Permissions are individually granted to users instead of to the group as a whole. When security groups are created, they are listed in the Security Group Name list and are available for selection on the Detail tab of the Providers ancillary data screen.

Procedure

  1. Click Settings > Users and Security.
  2. Click the New button:
    Plus sign in a circle.
  3. Click New Group.
  4. Type a Group Name for the provider security group and click Create.
    The General tab appears.
  5. Optional: Type an Email Address and Description.
  6. Click the Save button:
    Diskette.
  7. Click the Permissions tab.
  8. Grant only the needed permissions to the security group.
  9. Click the Save button:
    Diskette.
  10. Assign the security group to users who should be included in this group:
    1. On the Select tab, click the user to be added to the group.
    2. Click the Edit button:
      Pencil.
    3. Click the Membership tab.
    4. From the Group List, select the Trip Broker group to which to add the user.
    5. Click the left arrow button:
      Left-facing arrowhead on a rectangular button.
    6. Click the Save button:
      Diskette.
    7. Add users as needed to the new security group.
  11. Click the Save button:
    Diskette.
  12. Create any additional provider user groups.
