BSM EDI Point Fields

BSM EDI Point Fields ancillary data represent fields from the underlying external/ source table that the site wants to either link to a specific field in BSM or edit independently of any BSM specific field.

For example, to link the BSM longitude and latitude fields with the longitude and latitude fields of the source table so that if you re-geocode a point in BSM, it is geocoded again in the source system. You might also want to make user-defined fields from the source table visible or writable in the BSM screens such as a UserString field in Trapeze FX.

Field Description
Name Point type from which you want to link source fields.

Field Name

External fields to which you want to link.
Alias (Optional) A user-friendly name to display on the screen instead of the field name.
Note: If you choose to assign a purpose to a field and plan to use the Batch Edit feature, you must also set up an Alias for that field. Click the Field Purpose field and select an option. The selected purpose appears in the Alias field.
Field Purpose Specific BSM field to link this field to (if applicable). If this field is not linked to any BSM field, choose None.
Data Type Data type of the selected field
Sequence Order in which this field should be displayed on the screen (only applicable if Field Purpose is None).
New Category? If selected, a new category of source fields is created. (This is only applicable if Field Purpose is None.)
Writable?

If selected, the field becomes "writable" in the BSM screens (This is only applicable if Field Purpose is None and the field is not linked to an amenity or attribute.)

To EDI Conversion SQL query formatted statement that transforms the data in the field when importing it into BSM (This is only applicable if Field Purpose is None.)
To BSMConversion SQL query formatted statement that transforms the data in the field when writing the data back to the source table (This is only applicable if Field Purpose is None.)
Amenity Type (Optional) The options in the list are defined as BSM Amenity Types ancillary data. The selected BSM Amenity Type provides a link between FX Stops and BSM, which means that the amenity type cannot be deleted and any change to it will apply to BSM and the FX Stops table.
Attribute Type (Optional) The options in the list are defined as BSM Attribute Types ancillary data. Since the selected Attribute Type is assigned to an amenity type that is linked to the FX Stops table, it cannot be deleted and any change made to it will apply to BSM and the FX Stops table.
Filtering Allowed

If selected, the field can be used as a filter in the Points screen. For example, the City field is filled in. You can use it as a filter to select all stops that are geocoded in the selected city.

Batch Edit Allowed If selected, the EDI point field is displayed in the Attribute Data pane when the EDI point type is selected in the Points screen. (This occurs when batch editing multiple points.) Only the EDI fields that have the Batch Edit Allowed check box selected are displayed.

In the EDI Point Fields grid, the Batch Edit Allowed field of the selected point field will show a value of 1.

If not selected, the field is not shown in the Attribute Data pane when the EDI point type is selected in the Points screen.
