About Minimum and Maximum Parameters
The Minimum and Maximum parameters are the hard rules relating to the Minimum and Maximum pay time of a run type.
If the Minimum pay time is eight hours and the Maximum pay time is ten hours then type “8h” in the Minimum field and “10h” in the Maximum field.
Occurrence, Cumulative, and Worst Case parameters influence how many runs BlockBuster produces that push the limits of the Minimum and Maximum rules.
For example, if it is desirable to have a pay time of nine hours, then in the Lower limit parameter, type a value of “8h30” with a “$5.00” penalty and in the Upper limit field, type a value of “9h30” with a”$5.00” penalty. This means that when cutting runs, BlockBuster considers it more expensive to produce a run that is below 8h30 pay time or above 9h30 pay time. As a result, more runs should fall between 8h30 minutes and 9h30 minutes in length. These penalties do not prevent BlockBuster from producing runs that are between 8h00 and 8h30 minutes in duration or are between 9h30 minutes and 10h00 in duration. However, BlockBuster considers runs of these lengths to be more expensive. The system creates them only if absolutely necessary.
Fixed Overhead and Variable Overhead are figures that are specific to your location. If you do not have these figures, then they can be supplied by your accounts department. These are costs associated with employing a driver and allow BlockBuster to decide if it is cost effective to create more runs.
