About Services and Service Groups

A service refers to the days of the week that your transit agency operates.

Most transit properties have four services:

• Weekdays
• Saturday
• Sunday
• Holidays or Special Events

A service group consists of services that share a particular schedule, for example, a Sunday schedule is applied for January 1, New Year's Day, which may fall on a day of the week. The service for New Year's Day is then grouped under the Sunday service group.
