About Patterns

A pattern is the prescribed sequence of nodes associated with a route.

Most lines have multiple patterns of nodes that reflect passenger demands at different times of a workday. Not all nodes that are associated with a route are necessarily used in each pattern. For example, the pattern during the peak period may require extra nodes through an industrial area to provide service for workers while the pattern on Sundays may only include nodes to and from the shopping mall.
