Plot Tab Options

The following table describes the Plot Tab options used when connecting the segments of the trace.

Table 1. Plot Tab Options
Options Description
Streets This option is selected by default. The system allows you to draw plots using only streets that appear on the map.
Existing Lines Relies on a previous route trace available in the area of the system map where you want to trace.
Freehand The system lets you draw your route anywhere on the map not only using the streets that appear on the map. This allows you to plot a route trace without system aids. When selected, the list of Snap options is activated.
Snap options The following options enable you to connect your route trace to streets or features such as malls or driving center driveways that physically exist but do not appear on the map. You are prompted if there is no trace to "snap to" or "grasp quickly".
  • Off- Default option; the system automatically reverts to this option when you click the map after selecting any of the other options.
  • Existing Trace - Snaps back to the closest point of your trace on the map.
  • End of Segment- Snaps to the end of the segment closest to your trace.
  • Along Segment - Snaps anywhere on the closest segment on which you are tracing.
