Creating Patterns and Line Traces Automatically

In the FX Data tool you can automatically create pattern and line traces for selected services and lines.

  1. Click Tools > Extended FX Data Tool. The Extended FX Data Tool appears.
  2. In the Service list, choose the service you want. The default is set at <All> for all lines.
  3. To select more than one Service, choose <Custom>.
    The Select Service dialog box appears.
  4. Select Auto Path Pattern & Line Tracing.

  5. To delete existing traces, perform the following steps:
    1. Select the Delete Existing Traces check box.

      If this option is not selected before generating traces, FX preserves the existing traces and only generates traces for the selected lines that do not have line or pattern traces.

    2. Select the traces you want to remove: Pattern or Pattern and Line.
      There is no option to delete line traces only because you need the line traces to create pattern traces.
  6. To auto plot a pattern trace based on stops or an existing pattern trace, click Stop or Existing Trace.
  7. To create pattern and line traces, select the Map option. The system selects each stop in the route.
  8. To create pattern traces only, select the Existing Line Trace option. The system creates pattern traces based on th0e existing line traces.
  9. To create line traces only, select the Produce Line Trace Only check box and the Map option.
  10. To include special points if the system is configured to use special points, select the Include Special Points check box.
  11. Click Execute.
  12. Click Close.
