About Accrual Grid Bands
In Accrual Grid ancillary data, you can specify how much vacation time, sick time, or other time that employees accrue, depending on their job classes and months of service.
Each row, or band, in an accrual grid specifies how much vacation time, sick time, or other time that employees in a particular job class with a certain number of months of service accrue in each accrual period.
The accrual period length is specified by the Period Type field in Accrual Rules ancillary data. The Period Type value indicates whether accruals are generated for each month, pay period, or year.
You can specify the amount of time that employees accrue using fixed amounts or formulas. Formulas can be based on the number of hours an employee has worked in a particular pay code or pay code group. For example, an accrual grid band could specify that employees in a job class who have between 0 and 40 months of service accrue vacation time according to the following formula:
<number of hours worked in pay code 1013> x 0.05
You can specify bands for generating accruals that are in effect during different date ranges.
