Generating Stop Clusters Automatically

A stop cluster refers to a group of stops such as the bus stops in a transit bay. The bay has several distinct bus stops but all of them can be treated collectively as one physical stop.

Open the Transfer Wizard.

You can also open the system map if you want to view them there.

  1. Open the Automatic tab.
  2. In the Functions field, select the Stop Clusters check box.
The Stop Clusters frame appears in the lower section of the tab.
  3. In the Radius field, type a value or leave it at the default value.
Each designated stop for the selected lines is used as the center of the search radius and all possible transfers between this designated stop and all other stops are generated.
  4. Select one of the following options under Designation:
    • Preferred: For stops that have been selected as Preferred in the Bus Stops screen.
    • Transfer: For stops that have been selected as Transfer in the Bus Stops screen. If selected, the stops are listed in the top grid in the Stop Clusters pane while the number of stops are shown in Stop Count field
  5. Optional: Select a node/stop and click Zoom to zoom to it on the system map.
  6. Click Generate.
A message appears asking you to confirm the sign-up period and the stops you want to generate.
  7. Click OK.
After the process is completed, a message appears that informs you of the number of stop clusters generated.
  8. Click OK.
