Workspace Roles

Each role allows users to perform certain tasks in the workspace.

Viewer

Consumers should be assigned to the Viewer access level.

  • View and interact with the app, dashboards, and reports
  • Read data stored in shared databases

Contributor

Power users can be assigned to the Contributor access level, depending on agency needs.

  • All Viewer functions
  • Add featured content (dashboards and reports) to all user Home canvases
  • Create, edit, and remove content
  • Create reports in other workspaces using datasets from the current workspace

Member

Power users can be assigned to the Member access level, depending on agency needs.
  • All Viewer and Contributor functions
  • Add users with lower permissions
  • Publish and unpublish the workspace app, and change app permissions
  • Update and share content (including the app, if allowed) and give permission to others to reshare content
  • Add featured content (apps, dashboards, and reports) to all user Home canvases

Admin

Power users can be assigned to the Admin level, depending on agency needs.
  • All Viewer, Contributor, and Member functions
  • Add or remove users (of any level)
  • Allow Contributors to update the workspace app
  • Update or delete the workspace
