About Mapping Street Speeds and Closures

If there is a traffic accident, parade, or street festival during the day or a period of time, street speeds can be temporarily applied to streets or street segments to mark them as traveling below the speed limit or even closed.

Specifying street speeds on the map helps increase the accuracy of estimated travel times. Such events or closures marked on the map are taken into account by Schedule Server when scheduling and routing trips. By defining the maximum speed that a vehicle can travel during different times of the day or when there is a road closure, calculated trip times can take into account increased and decreased traffic flow and detours that may affect a client’s trip time, as well as scheduled events before and after that client’s trip in the run itinerary.
