What's New in Version 19
New features are features available in TripBroker v19 that were not available in the original release of TripBroker v18.
About Trip Broker
Trip Broker is an add-on module for Trapeze PASS used to broker unscheduled trips between multiple providers and send those trips to these providers for their consideration.
Although Trip Broker can run on the same machine as PASS and its other modules, Trapeze recommends installing Trip Broker on its own server because the module uses a lot of resources to operate.
Setting Up TpNet.ini
Before Trip Broker can be used, the TpNet.ini file must be set up.
About Updating the *.Profile Files
*.Profile files are text files that provide configuration information for the Trapeze6 Trip Broker Service Shell and Client Shell.
Defining the DSN and Port Number
The *.profile file needs to be updated with the correct DSN (database name) and port number so that the Trapeze6 Service Shell can connect to the database and to allow users to connect to the module.
Defining Trip Broker as the Default Trapeze6 Service
By default, Trapeze6 is configured to use Hiwire as the default service, which allows users to select which Trapeze6 module to use when they navigate to http://<host>:<ip>.
About Removing Unnecessary Components
If Trip Broker is running in its own Service Shell, then the *.profile file can be modified to remove unnecessary services.
Preparing the Database
DBEdit 3.3 or later is used to compare the *.db-schema files against your data source.
System Administrators work with aspects of PASS and Trip Broker that regular users typically do not.
About Creating Application Shortcuts
Application shortcuts can be created to start Trip Broker’s required components.
Configuring Schedule Server
The first time the Schedule Server application is opened, the user needs to log in and define the host and IP address of the machine that the database is located.
Configuring System Properties in the Trapeze4 Workstation
System properties allow transit agencies to customize system behavior.
Starting Trip Broker
To use Trip Broker, four components must be started and running.
Logging On to Trip Broker
Use a web browser to log on to Trip Broker.
Configuring Context Properties in the Trip Broker GUI
This section describes how to configure the context properties to find and schedule brokered trips in Trip Broker.
Loading and Unloading Trip Schedules
Schedules need to be loaded for the Trapeze4 Workstation to correctly batch trips for brokering so that they are published and visible in Trip Broker.
About Managing Provider Security
Providers are the operators of the paratransit service that supply the vehicles and often the drivers as well.
Trip Broker is a web-based application that can be used by transit agencies and their providers.
Starting Trip Broker
To use Trip Broker, three components must be started and running.
Logging On to Trip Broker

About Brokering Trips

About Viewing Trip Information
A trip's booking details can be viewed in any provider status to display the trip's status history, booking information, client information, and the trip's tracker log.
