Points to Remember about Graphical Runcutting

This information aims to remind you the steps required before performing Graphical Runcutting and how it compares to runcutting in BlockBuster.

  • Before using Graphical Runcutting, complete the same tasks that are required prior to any runcutting:
    • Check data integrity.
    • Assign garages and divisions to blocks.
    • Set the context in the Graphical Runcutting screen.
  • If you have made changes to the blocks as you are runcutting, it is a good practice to update the reliefs. Click Graphical Runcutting > Update Reliefs. See Updating Relief Events for more information.
  • To check and assign or reassign garage pull-out/pull-ins to blocks, you can access the Blocking tool of Trapeze FX. Click Graphical Runcutting > Blocking Tool.
  • BlockBuster features that are not available in the Graphical Runcutting screen:
    • Import/export runs
    • Generate exception runs
    • Add missing travels
    • Supplementary data
  • BlockBuster automatically saves all the changes that you apply on the screen.
  • The BlockBuster runcutting tab and Graphical Runcutting tab can not be open at the same time. If the BlockBuster tab is open and you attempt to launch the Graphical Runcutting tab, a warning appears advising you that a user with your user name is already logged in.
Note: Since both Runcutting features use the same database, Trapeze recommends that you close the tab that you are not working on especially if you want to avoid making changes to the data. If you are manipulating the data to search for the best runcutting solution, save your changes into a different scenario if you want to preserve the initial scenario.
