Copying Parts of Pattern Traces

You can copy parts of pattern traces to new patterns that share some of the nodes used in the patterns being copied from with the Truncate Pattern feature.

An example of when you can use this feature is when a pattern has changed; some node/stops have been added to the pattern.

  1. On the Patterns tab, click Route Definition > Edit or click Edit: Edit button.
  2. Select the Patterns Copy tab.
  3. If the directions in the From and To fields are not what you want, replace them with the appropriate directions.
  4. In the list of patterns in the frame below the From field, select the patterns you want to copy.
  5. To copy all patterns in the From direction, click Select All.
  6. To copy the pattern traces of the patterns selected, select the Copy Trace check box.
  7. To have the system automatically create a new pattern for the reverse direction, select the Reverse Trace check box.
  8. In the Truncate Pattern frame, select the first node of the new pattern from the Start Node list.
  9. From the End Node drop-down list, select the last node of the new pattern.
  10. Click Apply.
  11. Click Close.
