Blocking is the process of linking or hooking a series of trips in a chronological sequence to form blocks.

FX presents two main approaches to blocking trips: linking the trips manually or using the automatic blocking algorithm.

Table 1. Blocking Parameters Fields
Option	Description
Deadhead OK	Indicates that you are interlining and you require the interline deadheads.
Interline OK	Indicates that you want interlined trips.
Maintain Hooks	Ensures that the blocking algorithm maintains previously blocked trips for which you want to keep the hooks in the next blocking process.
By Bus Type	Indicates that you do not want to mix your vehicle types within blocks. Assign vehicle types to the trips in Trip Building in order to make use of this feature.
