Building Trapeze4 Map Data

The steps for building map data using MapMaker varies depending on transit sites and build purpose.

Note: Building map data can take a long time. Trapeze recommends that you not back up your map database while building map data.
  1. Start MapMaker and connect to the data source where you want to build map data.
  2. Click the Build tab.
    The Build tab shows tabs for specifying build options.

  3. Do the following steps:
    1. On the Metrics tab, select the Update Span check box and then select the Keep Current Cell Size option.
    2. On the Binary Path tab, click the ellipsis button, navigate to the directory where you want to save the map.bin file, and then click Select.
    3. On the Street Names tab, do the following steps:
      1. Select the Generate Soundex check box.
      2. Select the Change Case check box and then select the Uppercase option.
      3. Select the Update Type Aliases check box.
    4. On the Network Tab, select the following check boxes:
      • Reset Attribute List
      • Update Attribute List
      • Generate Spatial Index
      • Generate Binary Data
      • Write Binary File
    5. On the Nodes tab, select the Generate Cross Street List check box and then select the mapXST option.
  4. Select the Build check box at the bottom-left of the dialog.
  5. Click Execute.
    A confirmation dialog appears.
  6. Click Yes.
    The Info tab in the MapMaker dialog shows the progress of the build. A Batch Completed message appears when the process is finished.
  7. Click OK.

You can then test the map.
