Admin Options

There are three options available in the Admin Options dialog.

Table 1. Description of Administrative Options in DBEdit
Option Description
Auto Create/Drop synonyms on table Create/Drop

This is activated only for Oracle data sources and is marked by default for Oracle.

Whenever a table is created or dropped by DBEdit, a public synonym for that table is automatically created or dropped at the same time. The public synonym has the same name as the table.

If this check box is not selected, it is still possible to manually create or drop synonyms for tables in Oracle using the Create Synonym and Drop Synonym buttons in the Edit Database dialog.

Automatic Permissions –

Auto grant these permissions on table creations

This option is activated only for Oracle and MS-SQL data sources.

If this check box is selected, then the options below it are activated. Choose the options that you want to be automatically granted to the group entered in the To User/Role/Group field whenever DBEdit creates a table: Select, Update, Insert, or Delete.

Automatic Permissions –

To User/Role/Group

Check with your database administrator to ensure that the correct user/role/group is applied.

If this field is not activated, you can manually grant and revoke the same permissions for tables using the Grant Perm and Revoke Perm buttons in the Edit Database dialog.

Collation The Collation fields: Server and Database create indexes to support case-insensitive queries and are only used for Trapeze6 applications.

Contact your Trapeze representative for more information.
