Date Interval Rule Types

Date interval rules are grouped by rule type. For example, a daily rule repeats every day for a specified period of time.

The descriptions here reference subscription date rules, but the rule logic applies to definitions of active runs and regular to-do tasks.

Table 1. Date Interval Rule Types
Rule Type Procedures
Daily

Repeat the subscription trip every day. In the Sequence field, determine the daily sequence (from Every Day, to Every 31st day). The subscription booking is activated starting from the From Date.

For example, if the From Date is 22-08-2020 and it is to be activated Daily: Every 4th day, the subscription booking is activated on 22-08-2020, 26-08-2020, 30-08-2020, and so on.

In the Weekend Rule field select when the subscription is to be activated in the event it falls on a weekend.

Weekly

Repeat the subscription trip on certain days of a week, at weekly intervals. In the Sequence field, select the days of the week on which the trip is to take place. For example, Every week, Every 2nd week, Every 8th week. In the Week field, select the weekdays.

For example, if you choose Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the field is populated accordingly: 0101010 (every 0 represents an inactive weekday, 1 represents an active weekday).

Monthly By Date

Repeat a subscription trip at daily intervals only for specified months. For example, a client visits the dentist on the 1st day of the month every 6 months.

In the Sequence field, how often to repeat the trip. For example, Every Month or Every 2nd month. Then, in the Monthly Seq field, select which days of the month the trip is to take place (for example, 1st day, 2nd day, 31st day). Finally, in the Weekend Rule field, select when the subscription is to be activated in the event it falls on a weekend.

Monthly By Day Repeat the subscription at daily and monthly intervals when the booking is activated (for example, every 2nd month, the subscription is activated on the 1st Sunday).

In the Sequence field, select the monthly interval. For example, Every Month or Every 2nd month. Then, in the Monthly Seq field, select when in the month the trip is to take place. For example, 1st Sunday, 2nd Tuesday, or Last Friday.

Yearly

Repeat the subscription at a yearly interval.

In the Sequence field, select a yearly interval (for example, Every year, Every 2nd year, Every 10th year). Then, in the Weekend Rule field, when the subscription is to be activated in the event it falls on a weekend.

For example, if you chose Every 10th year, the subscription booking is activated first on the From Date (22-08-2020), and then ten years later (22-08-2029).

Holiday If you selected Holiday, click the Sequence field, and choose a holiday.

Holiday records are created in Holidays ancillary data (click File > Ancillary Data > General > Holidays).

Custom Create a single date of exception (that is, a miscellaneous date on which the subscription is to be suspended or activated outside of its normal schedule.) Then, specify the date in the From Date field.
Schedule Period In the Sequence list, click a schedule period (for example, summer). The subscription is activated for the date range associated with the schedule period.
Note: Schedule periods are defined in the Trapeze5 workstation. They are an older method of defining time periods and should only be used if they already exist in your system.
Date Interval Summary In the Sequence list, click a date interval summary option.

These are generic rules that are predefined in the Date Interval Summary ancillary screen (click File > Ancillary Data > General > Date Intervals).

To view or edit these rules in the Date Interval Summary screen, highlight the record you want and click Rules.
