In addition to setting up the required ancillary data, another important component you have to complete before you can build your trips is route definition.
About Nodes and Stops
A node is a designated timing point that is used in building trips. A stop is a physical point or location where a vehicle stops to pick up (load) or drop off (unload) passengers.
About Plotting Routes
Once your nodes and stops have been assigned to a route, you have the option of plotting the path that the route takes on the system map. The continuous path that is made on the system map from the start and end of a route is called a trace.
Deleting Traces
The Plot tab also allows you to remove a portion of a trace or an entire trace of the selected line.

Open Plot tab of the Nodes Edit dialog box.

To delete a portion of the trace, press CTRL and click over the points along the trace that you want to remove, and click Selected Trace.
To delete the entire trace, click Entire Trace.
A warning message appears showing the number of pattern traces associated with the route trace.
Click Yes.
