Node to Node tab Options
The following table describes the options found in the Method and Calculate frames of the Calculate tab in the Node to Node Edit dialog box.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Straight |
The system calculates run times assuming a straight line (free from bends, angles or irregularities) from node to node. |
| Triangulation |
The system calculates along two straight lines between points, one at a preset angle with the North and the other perpendicular to it. This method is very quick and somewhat more precise when used in maps of cities with a grid layout. |
| Routing |
The system calculates along the segments of the existing street network, taking into consideration the quality of the road, time of the day and the direction (inbound and outbound). This method produces closer to reality estimates but takes more processing time. |
| Plot |
The system uses the system map. |
| D/S (Distance/Speed) |
The system calculates the run time based on this formula. |
| Map |
The system ignores the speed factor and bases calculation on the distance between nodes as indicated in the system map. |
