Replotting Polygons

You can replot a polygon by moving individual points on the polygon.

Before you begin

Polygon Definition and the system map must be open.

Procedure

  1. Click a polygon type in the list.
  2. Highlight the polygon to be replotted.
  3. Click the Edit button:
    Pencil and three dots.
    The Polygon Properties dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Display button:
    Computer monitor with three dots on it.
    The polygon appears on the map.
  5. Zoom in to plot your point as accurately as possible.
  6. Click on the point you want to move. It turns from green to red.
    To move multiple plot points, press the CTRL key and click the points to be moved. Results may be less accurate when moving multiple plot points.
  7. Press the SHIFT and CTRL keys at the same time, and click the spot where you want to move the point. The red dot moves to the spot where you clicked.
  8. Click Apply on the Polygon Properties dialog box. The dot turns green and a line connects it to the two points closest to it.
  9. Optional: You may have to delete existing points to get the polygon shape you want.
    1. Highlight the point you want to delete (it turns red).
    2. Click Polygons > Delete.
      A confirmation message appears.
    3. Click Yes.
    4. In the Polygons Properties dialog box, click Apply.
      The point you selected on the map disappears and the two points closest to it are joined.
