A substring refers to a portion of a series of alphanumeric characters or keywords used to search for data.

A substring refers to a portion of a series of alphanumeric characters or keywords used to search for data.

When filtering data using substrings, type the first few characters of the data you want.

On the screen toolbar, click the Filter button:
The grid appears with an empty row.
In the blank field under a column header, for example, Division, type “Fer” for Ferry.
Click the Filter button again.
In the example, the division and its associated data appear in the grid.
