Fare Polygon

Fare polygons define fees for traveling from zone to zone within a specific polygon type.

Fare Polygons only need to be defined if you are calculating fares by zones.

Note: You can define multiple fares for traveling from zone to zone.

Table 1. Fare Polygon Ancillary Data
Field Description
Type Zone or polygon type.
Origin Fare's origin polygon.
Destination Fare's destination polygon.
Fare Factor Fare factor by which to multiply the fare to get the fare differential. The total is then subtracted from the original fare type to produce the fare amount. For example, if the ADA fare type for traveling between zones is $5.00 from fare polygon RTE 12A to 12B, multiply this fare type by a fare factor of 0.1. This results in a fare differential of $0.50. Subtract this from the fare type of $5.00. The cost of traveling between these zones is $4.50.
