About Template Matching
Activated template bookings should be scheduled to a run and then matched to the live schedule during Batch Scheduling.
Every subscription that is created has a subscription ID, which does not appear on the screen but it is recorded within the system.
Activated bookings (template or live) that you create share the same ID. The activated template booking should be scheduled to a run and then matched to the live schedule during Batch Scheduling.
Two common problems that you might have with templates are:
- The activated booking is not the same as the subscription booking.
- You try to batch schedule live trips by matching them to a template schedule but the live schedule failed to match the template booking.
If the activated booking is not the same as the subscription booking, it is probably because the IDs do not match. This occurs if the subscription booking has been edited but the old templates and live schedules have not been deleted. If this is the case, you must delete the old activated bookings, reactivate the bookings and reschedule bookings to templates and live days.
If the live schedule failed to match the template booking, the run name on the template might not match the run name on the live schedule. For every booking that fails to match, check to make sure the template has been scheduled to a run. If no run name appears in the template record, schedule it to a run and rematch.
Even with a standing ride policy, your templates change from time to time. Templates should be reviewed on a weekly basis so that they remain consistent with master and live records and you avoid routing problems.
