About Managing Affected Clients

To manage clients during an incident, a site needs to first identify which shelters are available to accommodate evacuated clients.

The site then needs to contact clients to determine where they are and whether they need to be evacuated to a shelter. Clients who do need to be evacuated can then be assigned to a shelter and an evacuation trip can be scheduled to transport them.

Because managing incidents is an on-going process, priority areas may be updated to reflect greater or less urgency for evacuation. Regularly update priority areas to show the latest information by clicking the Update Client Priority button in the upper-left corner of the Client Management step.
