Notifying Clients of Evacuation

Notifying clients of evacuation sends an IVR call to the selected client(s) to notify them that an evacuation is to take place, when it will occur, and to ask the client if he or she needs to be evacuated and his or her location.

Before you begin

Open the Manage Incidents screen.

About this task

Clients can respond to these questions using the dial pad on their phone.
The answers provided automatically populate the following columns in the Clients tab of the Clients step:
  • Need Evacuation (yes/no)
  • Set Position (At Home)

If clients are automatically notified, then the procedures for identifying whether clients need evacuation and accounting for client whereabouts can be skipped.

The phone number used to contact clients is defined using the following context properties:
  • Rapid Response > Notifications > Contact Type
  • Rapid Response > Notification > Use Phone From Address

Procedure

  1. On the Clients tab in the Client Management step, select one or more clients to contact.
  2. Right-click and click Send Notification.
