Cloning a User or Group Account

Existing accounts can be cloned to reduce the amount of time needed to create user, user group, or UI group accounts.

Before you begin

Users and Security should be open to the Select tab.

Procedure

  1. Select the user, user group, or UI group to clone.
  2. Right-click the user, user group, or UI group and click Clone from the shortcut menu:
    The Clone User or Clone Group pane appears.
  3. Type a Name for the new user or group.
  4. If the selected account's group memberships should be copied to the new account, click Copy Memberships.
    If Copy Memberships is not selected, a cloned user account will only be a member of the Everyone UI group and group accounts will not be members of any other group.
  5. Click the Clone button.
    The General tab appears.
  6. Update the user or group information as needed for the new account.
  7. Click the Membership tab and update any memberships for the new account.
  8. Click the Permissions tab and update any permissions for the new account.
  9. Click the Save button:
