Adding Locations

Locations in INFO-Agent typically refer to where a bus stop is geographically placed. It can also expressed as an address or a place with latitude or longitude coordinates.

  1. Click Task > Locations.
  2. Click the Add New button: Add New button
    The Detail tab of the Locations screen is displayed. If you previously worked on another record and did not close the screen, the data is now cleared.
  3. On the Detail tab, provide the following information as required:
    1. Name - Type the name of the location.
    2. Type - Click the location type that best suits your location.
    3. Inactive - Select whether the location is still in use for clients to be picked up or dropped off.
      Locations marked as inactive will not appear in the Trip Booking screen for selection can be filtered out when searching for locations.
    4. Load time and Unload time - Type the times it takes a client to get on and off the vehicle at this location, respectively.
    5. Needs Special Attention - Select whether to display the location’s comments in the Trip Booking screen.
      If this location is selected as a client’s pick-up or drop-off destination, then a message appears notifying the reservationist about these additional comments.
    6. Multiple Load Factor - Type the value used to calculate the time it takes to load multiple clients at a specific location.

      For example, three clients board at a location. The load time is four minutes and the load factor is 0.5. Using the calculation 0.5 x 4, the first client is loaded in four minutes, and the second and third at two minutes each.

      When you book a trip, the load>unload times you type in this screen are calculated on top of other load/unload times set elsewhere in PASS, such as the Clients screen and Space Types ancillary data.

    7. Vehicle Type Exclusion - Click any vehicle type that cannot be used with the location (for example, the vehicle type is excluded because it requires a large parking area to maneuver and the location is at a busy intersection). If trips have already been booked for this location, run the location change wizard to update the bookings with the vehicle type exclusions.
    8. Jurisdiction polygon - Click the polygon that the location belongs to. The polygons listed here are determined by the polygon type selected for the Jurisdiction Polygon property.
      When you type and geocode an address, the jurisdiction polygon within which it is located is automatically displayed in the Jurisdiction Polygon field. Sometimes, an address may be located within more than one polygon. Click the field to display the list; an asterisk (*) denotes the polygons that the address falls under.
    9. Address fields - Type the address of the location and geocode it on the system map.
    10. Phone - Type the phone number of the location.

      You can type multiple contacts for a location using the Contact Category dialog.

    11. Accessibility - Identify the type of accessibility available in the location by clicking the Accessibility button.
      The Accessibility button also appears in other screens such as the Trip Booking and Clients screen. It provides additional information on the accessibility features of the location. To add or edit Accessibility ancillary data, click File Ancillary Data Fixed Accessibility.
    12. Comment - Type any comments about the location. This comment also appears in the Comment field in the Trip Booking screen.
    13. Audiences - Define the users who can access the locations, for example, only Trapeze PASS users can add, read, and edit locations used in PASS.

  4. Click the Save button.

The new location is added to the Select tab with a numeric ID.
