User-Defined Scheduling Wizard Properties

Scheduling Wizard properties control the appearance and functionality of Schedule Booking Wizard.

Schedule Booking Wizard allows you to schedule a single booking into the live schedule.

Scheduling Wizard properties are found in File > Properties, on the Tools tab, or in Schedule Booking Wizard under Wizard > Properties.

Scheduling Wizard > Always set Parameters to Defaults Specifies whether to set the parameters and violations you have specified as the default.

To maintain consistency in single insert scheduling, Trapeze recommends that this property be set to Yes. When the property is set to Yes, the Ignore Time check box in the Schedule Booking Wizard is unchecked.
Scheduling Wizard > Auto Find Solution Specifies whether to set the Schedule Booking Wizard to automatically look for solutions for a booking as soon as it is opened.

If set to No, the user must click the Find Solutions button in the Schedule Booking Wizard screen to find scheduling solutions for a booking.
Scheduling Wizard > Decimals For Costing Weights Specifies the number of decimal places to show for the costing weight column values.
Scheduling Wizard > Default Flex Solution Options > Destination > Req Used in FLEX.
Scheduling Wizard > Default Flex Solution Options > Destination > Stop Used in FLEX.

Scheduling Wizard > FX Itinerary Planning Specifies whether to enable the Find FX Itinerary function.

Unless Trapeze INFO-Agent is installed at the site, set this property to No.
Scheduling Wizard > Inserted Trip Foreground Color Specifies the foreground color of the inserted trip in the Itinerary view.
Scheduling Wizard > Max Number of Bookings Specifies the maximum number of trips that can be copied into the Schedule Booking Wizard at one time.
Scheduling Wizard > New Bulk Stop Color Specifies the color value to assign to a newly created bulk stop to show in the Runs section of the Schedule Booking Wizard; used for Location Programs.
Scheduling Wizard > Run Itinerary Specifies whether to show the entire run itinerary of the selected run solution with the current booking included in the bottom section of the Schedule Booking Wizard.

You can also manually run itinerary events in the Schedule Booking Wizard by highlighting an event from the bottom frame, right-clicking, and then clicking Run Events in Itinerary.

Scheduling Wizard > Saving solution details

Specifies the number of offered schedule solutions to save for a trip for reviewing in Schedule Booking Wizard Flashback mode.

If the value is zero (0), the system does not save offered schedule solutions for review in Flashback mode.

If the PASS Scheduling > Flashback threshold system property is set to 0 and a value from 1 to 20 is specified here:
  • The system saves all solutions if the total number of solutions is equal to or lower than the specified value.
  • The system saves the specified number of lowest ranking solutions if the total number of solutions exceeds the specified value. The selected solution is also saved, even if it is not one of the lowest ranking solutions.
If the PASS Scheduling > Flashback threshold system property is set to a value greater than 0 and a value from 1 to 20 is specified here:
  • The system does not save anything if all offered solutions, or only the selected solution, do not have a Weight greater than the value specified in PASS Scheduling > Flashback threshold.

The system saves the specified number of lowest ranking solutions if the total number of solutions (with a weight greater than the PASS Scheduling > Flashback threshold value) exceeds the specified value. The selected solution is also saved, even if it is not one of the lowest ranking solutions.
Scheduling Wizard > Search Window Auto Expand Limit Specifies the limit to which the search window can be expanded.

For example, if the setting is 5h30 and a booking has a requested pick-up time of 12:00, the system looks for scheduling solutions that are five hours and 30 minutes before and after the requested time (that is, from 6:30 to 17:30).

In an initial attempt to find solutions for a booking in the Schedule Booking Wizard, the system searches within the Early Win/Late Win parameters specified in the Solution Parameters dialog box.

If the system returns no solutions, you can use the Find More Solutions command to set the system to look for more solutions. Also see the Search Window Auto Expand Step property.
Scheduling Wizard > Search Window Auto Expand Step Specifies the time periods by which the Find More Solutions tool searches for solutions once you have determined the Search Window Auto Expand Limit property.

For example, if the setting is 30, each successive search attempt using the Find More Solutions command expands the search outward by 30 minutes. For a 12:00 trip, the system looks for solutions between 11:30 and 12:30 first, between 11:00 and 13:00 second, between 10:30 and 13:30 third, and so on. The search window continues expanding at this rate until a solution is found. If no solution is found, it stops expanding when it reaches the search window auto expand limit.
Scheduling Wizard > Solution View Sort Order Specifies how solutions are sorted in the solution window of the Schedule Booking Wizard.

You can sort solutions by (Costing) Weight, or a combination of Weight and (Provider) Cost (for example, if two or more solutions have the same Cost value or Weight value, the other value determines their ranking).
Scheduling Wizard > String Template Specifies a script to show the text of the solutions in the Quick Schedule Booking Wizard.

An example of a script is Trip can be accommodated on Run# @RunName at @SchTime. Please be ready between @SchEarly and @SchLate. Estimated time of arrival is at @Arrival.
Scheduling Wizard > Zebra Color for Solution View Specifies the appearance of the Solutions grid into the zebra pattern. For example, one row is white and the next row is in a different color.
