Defining Speed Zones for Employees

Employees may drive at different speeds in specific polygons.

Before you begin

The Trapeze6 security permission found under Trapeze4 > Employees > Speed Zone must be granted to the user accessing the Speed Zones tab.

A polygon type must be selected in Tools > System Properties, on the Profile tab under PASS Scheduling > Polygon types > Speed Zone. Speed zones defined for the employee are based on this polygon type.

Employees must be open.

About this task

Employee speed zones are one of several factors that can affect the estimated speed of vehicles.

Procedure

  1. Click the Speed Zones tab.

  2. Click the Polygon field and click a polygon to be defined in the polygon type list.
  3. If applicable, click the Speed Type field and click a speed type in the list.
    Speed types are defined in MapEdit. They are applicable if your transit site uses street routing. For further assistance, contact Customer Care.
  4. Click the From Date field, and select the effective date for the speed factor from the calendar that appears.
  5. In the Speed Factor field, type a value.
    For example, type a speed factor that is reasonable for a new driver who may be unfamiliar with the area within the selected polygon.
  6. Click the Save button.
  7. To sort the records, click the Polygon column heading.
    The records are sorted by polygon name in ascending or descending order.
