Searching for Employee Records

Searching for an employee by scrolling down the list can be time consuming if you have a large list.

Before you begin

Employees must be open.

About this task

Locate an employee quickly by using the search filters in Employees.

Procedure

  1. Click the Select tab.
  2. Define any of the following filters:
    By Name
    Shows all employee surnames beginning with the letter(s) you type in the name field.

    To use this field to search by employee ID number, use /.

    For example, use /321 to search for the employee assigned ID number 321.

    All
    Shows all employees registered in the database in alphabetical order.

    To use this field to search by employee code, use +.

    For example, use +ABC to search for the employee assigned employee code ABC.

    Search Result
    Opens the Find Employees dialog box.
    New Items
    Shows all new files created during the current session.
    Show Active Only
    Shows all employees except for those who have been designated as inactive.
  3. Click Display.
