Extracting Run Times Using Time Bands

Use the Time Bands frame when you have different run times for a time period.

An example of different run times is when a trip takes 30 minutes in the early morning hours and then runs for 45 minutes during the morning rush period.
  1. On the Trips grid, select the trips for which you want to extract run times.
  2. Click the Edit button: Edit button
  3. Select the Extract tab. The direction of the selected run time interval appears highlighted in the Direction field.
  4. In the Time Band frame, click the Time Bands check box.
Time bands based on changes to the running times in the trip are created. If unmarked, the system uses the existing time bands.
  5. Optional: If you do not want gaps between time periods, click the No Gap check box.
  6. In the Node frame, select the Build Node or First Trip Time option, depending on where you want to build the run times.
  7. Click Apply.

A message appears if there are selected patterns that will be overwritten and asks if you wish to proceed with the extract action.

If you click Yes, the run times of the selected trips are displayed in the Run Times grid.

  8. Click Close.
