About the OPS Seniority Calculation Screen

After entering rules for assigning seniority rankings, employee seniority and vacation seniority rankings can be calculated.

The OPS Seniority Calculation screen is used both to create ancillary data specifying the rules for calculating seniority and to perform the calculation procedure. OPS seniority calculations should be done before bids are created. In some cases, transit agencies may have imported employee seniority values using the Employee Import screen. They may choose not to use the OPS Seniority Calculation screen.

When calculating seniority rankings, the first employee in each sort order is assigned the specified seniority number. The seniority number increases by one for each remaining employee in order.

If a seniority sort order isn't specified for employees in particular division groups, employee type groups, and employee status groups, seniority rankings for these groups are removed when seniority is calculated.
