Activating Master Runs Using the Run Activation Wizard

Once you have made changes to a master run, use the Run Activation Wizard to delete existing template or live runs and activate new runs with the changes in effect.

Before you begin

Runs must be open.

About this task

The Run Activation Wizard is similar to the Subscription Change Wizard.

Procedure

  1. Search for the runs to be activated.
  2. In the Runs grid, select the runs to be activated.
  3. Click the Run Activation Wizard button:
    Hand holding a wand.
The Run Activation Wizard dialog box appears.
The Run Activation Wizard dialog box on top of Runs, which is visible in the Trapeze4 Workstation. Runs selected in the Trapeze4 Workstation are visible under Run Name in the Run Activation Wizard.
  4. Select one or both of the following options:
    • Activate runs into Live Schedule(s)
Select this option, and then in the From field, specify the date of the first live schedule to be activated. By default, the current date is populated in the From field.

In the To field, specify the last date of the schedule to be activated.

    • Activate run into Template Schedule(s)
Select this option, and then in the list to the right, click the schedule type. For example, Template or Template Training. (The available options are previously defined by a system administrator.)

In the Weekdays list, select the weekday template schedules to be activated.

  5. Optional: To change existing runs, do the following:
    1. Select the Change Existing check box.
If you do not select this check box, the wizard only adds runs that do not already exist in the schedule.
    2. Select the Unschedule trips with violations that exceed the violation set check box and, in the list below, click the violation set. For example, Default.
The system will leave trips on the runs unless they exceed the parameters defined by the selected violation set. When they do exceed the violation parameters, trips are unscheduled.
If you do not select this check box, trips are left on the run no matter what violations are incurred.
  6. Click Activate.
A message appears confirming the activation.
  7. Click Yes.
The runs are activated. The Log View frame shows you the progress of the activation.
  8. Optional: To clear the Log View frame, click Clear LogView.
  9. Click Close.
