Manually Geocoding Addresses

When needed, addresses can be manually geocoded.

Procedure

  1. Enter the address information and click the Find button beside the Site Name field:
    Black envelope.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. On the map, zoom in as close as possible to the address location.
  4. Click the Navigate button on the toolbar:
    Arrowhead pointed to the upper-right.
In addition, if you know another address that is close to the address you are geocoding, you can search for it to view the area on the map.
  5. Click the Geocode button on the toolbar:
Map marked with a location result icon.
  6. Click the location on the map that you want to geocode.
Make sure that you click on, or click adjacent to, a street.
The Longitude and Latitude coordinates appear in the Location pane fields.
  7. Click Edit in the Address Fields pane to type the location’s address information in the Address Matcher fields.
You must enter address information after accepting the geocode, or the address will not update correctly.
  8. In the Advanced tab, click Geocode.
  9. Review the new coordinates of the location and then click Accept.
A black dot appears where you clicked on the map.
