About Updating Selected Addresses

TRR can be configured to prompt the user whether to copy any entered information into the geocoded location record.

Occasionally, information may be entered about an origin or destination location, but when the user geocodes the location, all or some information that was entered and not already in the Location record is cleared, requiring the user to retype the missing information.

The fields that can be overwritten into existing Location records are defined in the following context property:
  • MAP > MapAddress > Match Result Copy > Option Fields List

Separate field names by a comma (,).

For example, to configure TRR to prompt users whether to overwrite the Unit, Site Name, and Comments fields, set this context property to:

unit,siteName,comments

Fields that can be included in this list are as follows: siteName, streetNo,onStreet,atStreet, unit, city, state, zipCode, mapPage, lon, lat,isGeocoded, geocodeMethod, addressPolygonId,poBox,loadTime, unloadTime, comments, accessibilityOptions, mobilityAids, mailingAddress, objectId,objectIdStr,objectType.

Using the following context property, users can be prompted whether to overwrite the existing information into the Location record, or the existing functionality of never overwriting (clear extra information that does not already exist in the Location record) can be retained:
  • MAP > MapAddress > Match Result Copy > Optional Fields Action
Depending on this context property, the system will update the record as follows:
Always Overwrite
Update and include any information entered into the fields defined in MAP > MapAddress > Match Result Copy > Option Fields List.
Ask
Prompt before updating and include information entered into the fields defined in MAP > MapAddress > Match Result Copy > Option Fields List.

Fields may not be updated if the user does not allow the action.

Never Overwrite
Never update or include any information entered into the fields defined in MAP > MapAddress > Match Result Copy > Option Fields List.
