Automatically Grouping Open Work

You can configure Trapeze OPS to automatically group open work.

  1. Open the Group Open Work screen.
  2. Open the Context (F3) and define the Date, Agency, and Division.
  3. Select the Parameters tab.
  4. In the Iterations field, enter the number of repetitions of the process.
    An iteration is one attempt to find a solution that optimizes the grouped work.
  5. In Min. Execution Time enter the minimum amount of time (in minutes) that OPS can take to perform the process.
  6. In Max. Execution Time enter the maximum amount of time (in minutes) that OPS can take to perform the process.
  7. To minimize spread time in the solution, move the slider towards Length. To maximize spread time in the solution, move the slider towards Break.
  8. To make changes to the work rules for this group, but not the ancillary data, enter the changes in the Resulting Groups frame.
  9. Select OK.
  10. To exclude pieces of work from the group open work process, delete them from the lower pane of the screen.
  11. Select Automatic Work Grouping: Automatic Work Grouping
    The work is structured as follows:
    • Top pane. New groups of work.
    • Bottom pane. Ungrouped work.
    • Rows in bold. Groups created by OPS.
    • Rows in normal text. Original pieces of work.
