fast costing
Process performed by the Schedule Server to quickly evaluate a group of candidate solutions and select the best ones to present to the user when scheduling a client trip in PASS.
By combining elements of triangulation and street routing and only checking a user-defined number of solutions, fast costing avoids performing time-consuming solution evaluation using street routing or barrier calculations.
Fast Find field
Trapeze4 Workstation dialog feature that lets users select a value from a system-generated list.
field
A space used for a specific piece of information. Information is typically entered into fields in Trapeze applications and saved in fields in the database.
See also record.
field programmable
Ability to update mobile hardware and software over the air.
Compared to manual programming, this speeds updates, reduces fleet downtime, and minimizes costs.
field supervisor

See also group call.

See also workspace.
floating relief
Relief type where runcut is done any time during a layover. For example, on a 20-minute layover, to save time, three minutes can be cut before departure and two minutes after arrival instead of a whole five-minute layover.
Typically, runcuts are done at the arrival or departure at a relief point.
Also called moving relief.
follower
Trailing vehicle when computing vehicle headway.
frame
A distinct section of a dialog or screen, typically containing fields.
freeze
Ability to prevent things from moving or being updated.
In some Trapeze application screens columns can be frozen so that they're still visible while checking other data. It's sometimes also possible to freeze records. In OPS, weekly timekeeping records or runs can be frozen. In PASS, runs and events can be frozen.
From Time
Actual start time for a piece of work, occurring after the operator Sign On time.
full cafeteria
See cafeteria pick.
funding source
Organization or group that sponsors or subsidizes trips for clients. Funding sources may offer sponsorship based on client disability, trip locations, and other conditions. Typically used in PASS.
