National Transit Database (NTD)

Used by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) as a primary source of information and statistics on transit systems in the United States.

  1. Designated timing point, relief point, check point, or garage along a route designated with a schedule time (a specific location within the transit system).

    A node may or may not be located at a stop. Nodes may be identified by a number, a name, or both. Street relief may occur at nodes.

  2. In traffic, a planning zone centroid used in traffic assignment.

A set of from and to nodes.

Primarily used to establish run time.

non-revenue service

Miles and hours omitted from the National Transit Database (NTD) reporting (not including revenue deadheads).

Vehicles that don't collect revenue. For example, maintenance, supervisor, and administration vehicles.
