wait time

Time an operator waits for a vehicle in which to travel from a node to the garage or from the garage to a node.

Used in conjunction with travel times.

wayside signs

Dynamically updated bus stop signs that give next arriving or departing bus information.

wizard

Tool that enables users to quickly access information or helps perform a particular task. For example, in OPS, the Employee Bid wizard, and in PASS, the Schedule Booking wizard.

work

In OPS, a grouping of runs to which an operator is assigned.

work assignment rule

Restriction on the work that can be assigned to employees.

Also called work rule.

work assignments

Work expected to be performed by an operator. Typically used in OPS.

work order management

Ability to dispatch tasks and assignments electronically to field workers, and to monitor their progress from the office as they send job results via their in-vehicle computers.

This process increases efficiency and maximizes workflow.

workspace

  1. Area where work is performed in Trapeze5 and Trapeze6 applications.

    There are many items in a workspace that can be customized and saved.

  2. In ViewPoint, collaborative area where power users can share and work on content (reports, dashboards, and apps).

    ViewPoint uses the Microsoft Power BI interface.

workstation

  1. Equipment used at a dispatch station. For example, monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU, and radio console.
  2. Main component of Trapeze4 that allows users to perform registration and scheduling activities.

    The workstation is shared by PASS, FX, and FLEX products.

work time

Total amount of time an operator is considered to have worked on a given day.

For most agencies work time includes: platform time + report time + clear time + travel time + intervening time + break time.
