About Linking Trips

You can link trips that occur on different days to create a single trip itinerary when the trips are for a single client.

In addition to linking trips with return trips and linking trips within a multi-leg itinerary in Trip Booking, you can also link trips that occur over different days in Trip Administration as long as they are for a single client.

There may be occasions when you want to group trips together. When you link trips, you create a single itinerary ID that groups them together. Linking trips is useful for the following purposes:

  • Trip confirmation - When a client calls requesting trip information for a number of trips, linked trips are highlighted for easy identification.
  • Tracking client trips - When one trip is dependent on another (for example, multi-leg bookings), the system allows you to cancel all trips in an itinerary when you cancel one trip and to schedule itinerary trips simultaneously.

Before you begin, click Tools > System Properties. On the Profile tab, click PASS Booking Client > Trip Itinerary Color. For the Trip Itinerary Color property, select a color. Trips that are linked are highlighted in the selected color for greater visibility.
