About Roster Contract Rules
Contract rules are time and work characteristics that are set for each roster type, which are used to determine whether a roster is legal or not legal.
When a roster type is In Use, then the type’s corresponding contract rules are considered in the costing and Improve process. Contract rules for each roster type are defined using minimum and maximum parameters as well as a more constraining best value with a weight associated to it.
Some common contract rules are:
- Pay: Total weekly pay
- Routes: Number or Lines/Routes allowed for this roster type.
- Start: Start/On time
- End: End/Off time
- Cons: Number of consecutive days off required.
- Days Off: Number of total off days required for a roster.

Penalty: Not presently used.
- Days On: Allows you to select Days on in a Weekday template.
- RunTypes: Run types that are considered for the Roster type.
