Resources for Software Maintenance
Additional technical assistance is available from different sources.
Logging On to the Trapeze4 Workstation
Before working with certain Trapeze applications (for example, PASS and FX), you must log on to the Trapeze4 Workstation.
Changing Your System Password
The first time you log into the Trapeze4 Workstation or if your password has expired, you have to change your password.
Logging Off of the Trapeze4 Workstation
Exit the system correctly to prevent corruption of the database.
The Monitor screen allows you to monitor vehicles in real time and view them on the map.
Viewing the Map on Full Screen
Expand the map to full screen to view a larger map area.
Viewing Itinerary and AVL Data
The filters on the Run/Vehicle Options pane allows you to view either a list of runs or vehicles.
Viewing AVL Status of Runs and Vehicles on Map
If you are viewing runs, only the runs assigned to a mobile computer will have AVL data.
Locating Vehicles
Vehicles can be located by using the poll function.
Viewing Itineraries or AVL
Define viewing criteria in the Itinerary/AVL Options frame to show information in the Itinerary/AVL grid and on the system map.
Viewing Turn Lists
To view a vehicle’s turn list, you must have a trace displayed on the map.
Viewing Animated Itinerary/AVL Data on the Map
Animation settings control the playback of Itinerary/AVL data on the map.
Viewing Itinerary/AVL Events Manually on the Map
Itinerary and AVL events can be viewed manually on the system by using specific control options.
About the AVL Agent
The AVL Agent improves system scalability by allowing processing of AVL data to be handled separately from other data received from the mobile computer.
The MDT Center facilitates two-way communications between dispatcher and drivers.
Logging On Drivers (Using MDT Center)
When troubleshooting, you may find it necessary to log on a driver in MDT Center.
Monitoring Messages in MDT Center
The MDT Center is a utility within the Trapeze4 workstation that displays messages received from a mobile computer such as requests for no-shows, text messages, or emergency messages.
MDT Center Commands
Many MDT Center commands provide you with quick access to relevant trip information in Schedule Editor or other screens.
Viewing Messages from Specific Vehicles
Use filters when you need to view all messages from one or multiple vehicles.
Viewing MDT Information
Details about MDT vehicles can be gather directly from MDT Center.
Clearing the MDT Center
As a dispatcher, you are responsible for monitoring messages as they come in, dealing with each message, and closing each message.
Message Types
You may not see all the message types described here or you may use some message types that are not shown here.
Sending High Priority Messages from MDT Center
Messages selected as high priority are sent before other messages when there is a queue of messages in the MDT Server.
Sending Canned Messages to Drivers from MDT Center
Canned messages are written in advance and selected from a set list.
Sending and Creating Free Form Messages from MDT Center
Canned messages are written in advance, while Free Form messages are written in the current session. Both are selected from a set list.
Handling Notifications
The MDT Center is important for communication between dispatchers and drivers.
Processing No-Show Requests
Drivers may send No Show (NS) messages when the clients do not show up for their scheduled pick-ups.
Processing Cancellations at the Door
When a client cancels at the door, the driver sends the MDT center a CD message type.
Handling Emergency Messages
Emergency messages must be cleared before new trips can be sent to the driver.
Adding Comments to Received Messages
Comments can be added to messages received from mobile computers.
Reviewing Completed Messages
Completed messages can be reviewed to determine who marked the message as done and when it was marked as done.
Viewing Messages from Another Day
Message data from previous days can be viewed when needed.
