About Dispatch

Dispatch can be used for a variety of dispatching activities.

  • Dispatch incidents to drivers in a timely fashion to tell them about schedule changes throughout the service day.
  • Eliminate schedule problems by alerting dispatchers of violations on vehicles the moment they occur.
  • Assign vehicles and drivers to runs.

Some activities can only be performed by users with the proper security access (for example, Vehicle Assign). Security permissions are assigned by a system administrator.

Dispatch consists of three tabs that allow you to do different things:
Incidents
Monitor and dispatch incidents throughout the day. (An incident is an event that is scheduled to occur but has yet to be dispatched to a driver.)

When you first open Dispatch at the beginning of the day, notice that ALL events (pull-ins, pull-outs, pick-ups, drop-offs, and breaks) are shown in the Incidents list.

The Incidents list shows all the events scheduled to occur and they remain in the list until you mark them as items that have been sent to the driver.

Additional incidents are created and added to the list when a change has been made to a schedule. For example, a client has canceled, or adjusted a pick-up or drop-off time or location.

Vehicles
View all runs and vehicles in your database, view run itineraries, and monitor any vehicle or run with violations.
Unassigned
List clients with trips to be scheduled and all unassigned runs.
