Editing Subscription Bookings

Editing a subscription booking correctly is a detailed process that involves editing the actual booking, deleting old template and live bookings, and activating new template and live bookings.

Before you begin

Trip Administration must be open.

About this task

A master subscription record is separate from the activated template or live records. Changes you make to the master record do NOT automatically change existing Template and Live days. Once you have edited a subscription booking, use the Subscription Change Wizard to create new template and live bookings that reflect the changes. It is important to follow all the steps in this procedure carefully to prevent scheduling errors.

Procedure

  1. In the Client field, type the client’s name.
Or, you can type a forward slash (/) followed by the ID number (for example, /2105) of the client whose subscription you are editing.
  2. Select only the Sub check box.
  3. Click Display.
  4. Highlight the master record.
If you have two master records (that is, a trip and a return trip), highlight the first master record.
  5. Click the Edit button:
    Pencil and three dots.
The original subscription booking is shown in Trip Booking.
  6. Make the necessary changes to your booking.
  7. Save the changes you make to the booking.
The Subscription Change Wizard automates both the removal of old template and live records and the activation of new template and live bookings in a single operation after a subscription has been edited. Continue following this procedure to manually remove and reactivate the subscription or use the Subscription Change Wizard to automate these activities.
  8. In Trip Administration, click Display.
Check that the changes you made appear in the new master record. Changes to the master record do not affect any activated bookings (that is, template or live bookings).
  9. Clear the Sub check box.
  10. Click Display.
Only your template and live days appear on the grid.
  11. Highlight all template and live bookings copied from the original subscription record.
    • Hold the CTRL key and click each record.
    • To select a block of records, hold the SHIFT key and click the first record and last record.
  12. Right-click and click Delete, or click the Delete button.
Highlighted bookings disappear from the grid and any booking that has been scheduled is taken off the run.
  13. Select the Sub check box and click Display.
    The new master record appears.
  14. Create new activated bookings.
New activated bookings are not scheduled.

What to do next

If the changes you make also apply to the return trip of your subscription, you must edit that as well. Highlight the master record for that return trip and repeat the procedure.

If you have edited a subscription, it is essential that you delete old template and live records, or else the records do not match. A mismatch causes scheduling errors or places the activated records on the unscheduled list.
