Preparing the System to Use Dispatch Manager

Before using Dispatch Manager, perform the following checks so Dispatch Manager will function correctly.

About this task

For assistance with steps below, contact your Trapeze representative.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the Trapeze6 Client Shell context property PassRTV > Common > Database Refreshing Period is set (the minimum value is 20 seconds).
Depending on your system configuration, this value may display in seconds or in minutes. If the value is shown in minutes, use s to define seconds. For example, if the system is using minutes, typing 120s will display 2 and typing 20s will display 0.
  2. Verify that ancillary data is configured for Tracker to log Notepad entries:
    1. In File > Ancillary Data > Para > Tracker > Tracker Codes, add the code COMMENT with the description Dispatch Manager Log comment.
    2. In File > Ancillary Data > Para > Tracker > Tracker Action, add the action Run/Comments with the code COMMENT and a level of 1.
  3. Ensure that system properties found in Tools > System Properties, on the Profile tab, are configured to publish event changes:
    1. Set PASS Scheduling > Publish Events to Yes.
    2. In PASS Scheduling > Publish Events Host, type the host IP address.
    3. In PASS Scheduling > Publish Events Port, type the host port number.
  4. In File > Properties, on the Tools tab, click Schedule Editor > Color Settings and configure the user-defined color properties.
The colors specified for Schedule Editor are the same for Dispatch Manager.
