Using Dispatch to Manually Send Incidents to MDTs

If the Autosend feature is not activated to send trip changes, incidents, and so on, automatically, or if there is an incident that you wish to send right away to a driver using an on-board Mobile Data Terminal (MDT), you can send it manually using Dispatch.

Before you begin

Dispatch (Task > Dispatching) must be open.

Procedure

1. Click the Incidents tab.
2. Confirm that the correct schedule appears.
3. Display the relevant incidents in the Incidents list.
4. Select the incident to be sent by MDT.
5. Click Send.

Results

The selected incident is marked by an ellipsis (…) in the Send column and is automatically sent to the corresponding run and driver through the MDT.

Once the MDT Server application successfully sends the event to the MDT, it is marked with the DM code. This records that the event was sent by MDT and takes the event off the Unsent Incidents list.
