Cloning an Existing Policy

After a policy has been created, it can be cloned.

Before you begin

Open the Service Infractions module to the Policies tab.

About this task

Clone policies have the same policy type as the original policy.

Previously activated policies can only be changed after they have been deactivated, and only some changes are allowed to prevent issues with infractions that are being processed. When policy changes are needed, Trapeze recommends cloning the policy that needs changes, making changes to the clone version, and then activating the clone policy.

For example, if you wanted to create Missing Scheduled Trips policies for individual Service Types, you could set up a policy, clone it, and modify the name, description, and Service Type. The Violation Alert and Appeals information in the clone policy would be the same as in the original.

Procedure

  1. Click the policy card of the policy to be copied.
  2. Click Clone.
Two pieces of paper with arrows pointing from one piece to the second piece above the word Clone.
  3. Type a new policy Name.
  4. Type a new policy Description.
  5. Adjust the policy Information, Infraction Criteria, and Stages and Phases as needed.
