Format of Trips Data to be Copied from Spreadsheets

Before you can copy and paste trips, your data must be formatted properly.

Requirement Description
Visible rows or columns in the spreadsheet Must match the area in the grid (in number of nodes) in which it will be pasted.
Times Should be in one of the following formats:
  • HH:MM; 24hr clock
  • 36hr clock format
Data orientation Either:
  • Top to bottom orientation - Node names are shown on the column headers while the trips are shown in columns down the grid. This is the default and typically used in North America.
  • Left to right orientation - Node names are shown on the marker column on the left section of the grid while the trips are shown in rows across the grid. (See Reorienting the Trips Grids for information on how you can change the orientation of the grid.) This is typically used in the UK.
