Defining Suspensions

Clients who reach the defined infraction threshold in the defined time period can be suspended.

Before you begin

Policy infraction criteria must be defined. Open the Service Infractions module to the Policies tab.

About this task

More than one suspension phase can be created if needed. For example, a client's first suspension may be for 5 days and additional suspensions may be for 30 days. When a suspension is enforced, the client's existing trips for the defined period are canceled.

Procedure

  1. In the Stages and Phases pane, in the Suspension phase, type the Threshold Value.
If the policy uses a Threshold Calculation Type of Percentage, you must also type a Min Number of Infractions.
For policies that use multi-period cases, any value can be used as the threshold value. If multi-period cases are not used, then the threshold value must be greater for each subsequent stage.
  2. Type the Suspension Duration.
If you are creating multiple suspension phases, this is the final suspension duration, used for subsequent violations.
  3. Select the Cancellation Code to be applied to trips that are automatically canceled during the suspension period.
In the Trapeze4 Workstation, you can create a user-defined cancel code specifically for suspension cancellations.

For example, SC - Suspend Cancel.

  4. Optional: In the Information pane, if you want the suspension to start on a specific day of the week, click the SUSP START ON SPECIFIC DOW check box, then select a day of the week from the DAY OF THE WEEK list box.
Notice: If selected, suspensions should be scheduled to begin on the first occurrence of the designated day of the week on or after the minimum user-specified number of calendar days (the existing grace period).
  5. Select Suspend Only Subscription Trips
    • Yes - Suspends all subscription trips.
    • No - Suspends all trips.
  6. To define an additional suspension phase, click the Add button:
    Plus sign in a circle.
The Add Suspension Phase dialog box appears.
  7. Type a To Violation Count.
Cases that meet the threshold that falls between the Violation Alert Threshold Value and the To Violation Count amount will be suspended for the 1st Level Suspension Duration. If a 2nd Level Suspension is defined, it will be applied to cases where infractions are greater than the defined the 1st Level To Violation Count and less than or equal to the 2nd Level To Violation Count.
  8. Type a Suspension Duration.
  9. Select the Cancellation Code to be applied to trips that are automatically canceled during the suspension period.
  10. Click OK.
